
JEE Main, NEET 2020 Exam Live updates: Amid the chorus growing against the conduct of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET 2020), the National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the engineering entrance exam from September 1. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam conducting agency is taking special measures considering the health risk of the students.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is making special arrangements of 10 lakh masks, 10 lakh pairs of gloves, 1,300 infrared thermometer guns, 6,600 litres of hand sanitiser and an equal amount of disinfectant liquid, 6,600 sponges, 3,300 spray bottles and 3,300 cleaning staff — all at an additional cost of almost Rs 13 crore.
However, many students and politicians have raised concern against conducting the exams. The ministers of six opposition-ruled states moved the Supreme Court on Friday seeking review of its order allowing the Centre to conduct NEET and JEE entrance exams this year amid the prevailing coronavirus pandemic situation.
The Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that the entrance exams will be conducted on the demands of the students. Over 17 lakh candidates have downloaded their admit cards for the engineering, medical entrance exams so far.
The Jharkhand government has allowed reopening of hotels, lodges as well as restaurants and also given a go-ahead to public transport to ply within the state for a month till September 30 in view of the JEE-NEET examinations scheduled next month.

Over 19 lakh candidates have downloaded admit cards for medical and engineering entrance exams -- NEET and JEE, officials in the Ministry of Education (MoE) said on Friday. A total of 7.6 lakh candidates for JEE Mains and 11.49 lakh aspirants for NEET have downloaded admit cards till today, a senior ministry official told PTI. As many as 8.58 lakh candidates have registered for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main and 15.97 lakh have registered for NEET.
Welcoming the move, Pokhriyal wrote on Twitter in Hindi, “I heartily welcome the decision taken by the Supreme Court with respect to the final year exams. Let’s keep politics away from education and educate our politics.”

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Friday urged the Centre and the Supreme Court to reconsider the decision to hold the NEET and JEE exams amid the coronavirus pandemic. "Every day more than 70,000 cases of coronavirus are being reported in the country. But amid this situation, NEET- JEE exams are being conducted. If anything happens to the students then who will be responsible for it?" Singh asked in a statement. "I request honourable HRD Minister at the Centre and the Supreme Court to reconsider this decision as we also have to secure the future of children," the Rajya Sabha MP was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Ministers of six non-BJP ruled states on Friday moved the Supreme Court against its order allowing holding of NEET and JEE exams amid the COVID pandemic, as the row over the contentious issues intensified with the top Congress leadership stepping up its offensive against the government, while Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank asserted that politics should be kept away from education, as reported by PTI
The ruling BJP in Gujarat on Friday accused the Congress of creating anarchy by inciting students, and asked the main opposition party to accept the Supreme Court's verdict on NEET, JEE and university exams.
On August 17, the top court had refused to interfere with the conduct of medical and engineering entrance exams-the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) scheduled to take place in September saying that life must go on and students can't lose a precious year due to the pandemic
Step 1: Candidates report in batches from 11:00 A.M onwards
Step 2: At the entry of the registration room their body temperature is recorded through thermal gun.
Step 3: If the temperature (< 37.4°C/99.4°F) , they move to frisking personnel for frisking
Step 4: If the temperature is (> 37.4°C/99.4°F), they will be taken to the Isolation Room. All processes of frisking and document verification will be done after a period of 15-20 minutes. In this time their temperature may become even normal, if not they will be allowed to take the examination alone in a separate room
Step 5: Candidates display Admit card, Valid Govt ID proof, PwD certificate(if PwD candidate), Scribe undertaking (if applicable in proforma given in Information Bulletin) to Invigilator on duty across the table.
Step 6: After due verification, invigilator checks seat allocation chart & direct them to their examination room as per roll number
Step 7: Invigilator on duty outside the registertaion room ensures that students enter registration room in batches of 10 (first) and then 5, when first 5 leave . After leaving he/she directs Candidates to their examination room.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main will be held from September 1. The exam will be continued till September 6. Over 17 lakh candidates have downloaded their admit cards for the engineering, medical entrance exams so far.
