Pune: Husband kills second wife basis suspicion

The incident took place at Bhekrainagar in Hadapsar area of Pune. The police have identified the deceased as Aparna Mahadik (36). In this regard, the Hadapsar police have arrested her husband Surendra Salunkhe (42).

Pune: In a shocking incident, a businessman who constantly argued and fought with his wife and suspected bad character, strangulated her to death.

The incident took place at Bhekrainagar in Hadapsar area of Pune. The police have identified the deceased as Aparna Mahadik (36). In this regard, the Hadapsar police have arrested her husband Surendra Salunkhe (42). He has been arrested under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code comprises of murder at Hadapsar police station which falls under the jurisdiction of Pune city police.

According to the police, "Suspect Surendra Salunkhe is a businessman. His first marriage lasted for a few years happily but later rekindled with his college friend and first love, Aparna. Despite being married, Surendra fell in love with Aparna and married her.  Both the wives were living in different places. His second wife Aparna was into a domestic cooking business. Surendra was against going to another person's house to work and cooking food. Which led to Surendra constantly doubting Aparna's character. There were constant arguments between the two. Finally, this led Surendra  to strangled his second wife Aparna to death."

Hadapsar police station senior police inspector Ramesh Sathe who is investigating the incident said, "The suspect fled away from the spot and based on the circumstances, evidence and testimony of neighbours we suspected his involvement and we called him for interrogation. During interrogation, he confessed that he had committed the murder. We arrested him. We are probing the case."
