Bihar CM Nitish KumarPATNA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday launched several new plants of the Bihar State Milk Cooperative Federation Limited (Comfed), worth over Rs 221.73 crore, through videoconferencing from ‘Samvad’ auditorium of the CM secretariat here. He also launched several new milk products of Sudha brand of the Comfed.
The prominent plants which were inaugurated on Thursday were a Rs 61.21 crore-dairy plant at Samastipur, a Rs 39.51 crore fodder plant at Bihia in Bhojpur district, a Rs 12.88 crore Milko-screen plant and altogether 14 road milk tankers worth Rs 3.13 crore.
The CM also laid symbolic foundation stones for a new dairy plant of 2 lakh litre per day capacity at Gaya. This plant will be set up at a total cost of Rs 26 crore. He also laid foundation stones for another daily plant at Hajipur in Vaishali district. The Hajipur plant will cost Rs 52.59 crore.
The CM also launched some new products of Sudha brand. The new products include tetra-pack ‘lassi’, tetra-pack ‘chhachh’, tetra-pack ‘ilaichi’-flavoured milk, butter toffee flavoured milk and Haldi milk. Some new varieties of ice-cream were also launched.
Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi and the animal, fishery resources and agriculture minister Prem Kumar also attended the programme through videoconferencing.
At the same venue, the CM also launched the revenue and land reforms department’s online facility for issuance of the land possession certificates to the landowners. Revenue and land reforms department’s additional chief secretary Vivek Kumar Singh briefed the CM about the benefits of the online facility.
