#ConfabNE is a conversation that publishes in 15 Gannett New England newspapers in five states: New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Join the conversation.
Last week, #ConfabNE asked New Englanders what they thought about Joe Biden's choice of Kamala Harris for vice president.
Here's what you said.
She is hypocrite. She criticize Biden about accusing him to be a racial pig, then bows down to him to run as his running mate in the presidential election then after a year Biden will step down then she becomes the President.

Do you really think she was Biden’s choice?

She was his strongest choice amongst a field of many who would have been a good pick. She has immediate gravitas and I have complete confidence she would be able to step in immediately if something were to happen to Biden. The complete opposite of what I thought McCain's pick of Palin was. Democrats should need NO OTHER reason to be excited to vote other than not voting would ensure 4 more years of the Trump Disaster. But since some voters are lazy and need a kick in the ass, I believe Harris provides that kick. She will help considerably, but she needs to get out and make speeches to convince some surprisingly undecided voters that the Democrat ticket is what this country needs to begin to repair damage inflicted by the Trump Accidency.

She’s an important addition to Biden and I think she’s an exceptionally strong intelligent candidate

I don't know much about her. She was not my choice; I was hoping he would pick Duckworth.
However, many have suggested that Biden is not tough enough on crime and as a prosecutor, this will balance this opinion.
I do wish people would stop referring to her by her first name. It's disrespectful and something that we only do to female politicians. She deserves our respect; Even if you don't like her or approve of her politics, she's an American and a human being.
The vitriol and disgusting insults being spewed by individuals pretending they have an interest in politics over these last few years has been very un-American.

Maybe she should run for President. Joe is too old, senile and likes touching little girls. He is unfit for any political office let alone a Presidency.

She’s not the best pick. She’s not the worst pick. She’s a pick. She checks the demographic boxes for him.

I think she will run this show. She will be the reason they win because and only because she is a woman of color. 330 million people in the US. And Kamala Harris is THE ONLY PERSON, the BEST PERSON to take the reins of the greatest country in the WORLD if needed? Really?

I do not believe she can help them win the election. I also do not believe that she was the best pick.

There is no running mate Biden could have picked that would want to vote for him. Career politicians are destroying our beautiful country!! Trump has my vote and NOTHING will change my mind. God Bless America!

I think she's awesome and I hope they win. I think he did right by picking her.

Terrible pick. She will slightly hurt his chances of election, but he was already destined to lose what should be a total layup because he's an awful candidate.

Kamala Harris is the best choice to bolster Biden's Presidential campaign, while representing the Democratic Party's core values. Representation matters. We need more women of color in positions of power in politics, board rooms, union meetings, and local affairs. Harris as VP will keep pressure on expanding opportunities for WOC in leadership positions. Harris will likely inspire enough voters around the country to help Biden win. They have already raised millions together in a short time. Like Biden, Harris is a safe choice, as they both prefer to make incremental progress on a wide range of human rights and climate issues. Unfortunately, poor and marginalized communities, particularly the Black community, cannot wait for incremental change. But at least Biden/Harris will be open to making progress on many important issues in a more responsible, compassionate manner than the Trump administration.

I think she will be essential to boosting enthusiasm and voter turnout, especially within underrepresented communities which often face forms of voter suppression. I do not think she will be the reason why Joe Biden loses but I think she will help him win. She was indeed the best pick to be Joe's running mate.

What do I think? What do you think about her record? Tulsi handed it to her pretty stiff. What do you think about the fact she called Biden a racist on National TV, yet decided to accept the run for VP?
He wrote the crime bill that targeted young men of color.
She championed it, even blocked evidence so her career would benefit. Laughed about keeping more people convicted so they could be "cheap labor". Laughed about jailing parents in SF for their kids missing school.

I think she'll attack President Trump most of the time. I don't think she'll affect the outcome of the election, but I'm more concerned about her impact on policy and her potential to be president should something horribly wrong happens to Joe Biden.
Her prosecutor record in California deeply concerns me. She showed blatant disregard for the constitutional rights of defendants/suspects, and we shouldn't seek to reward that behavior by giving her a promotion.
As a candidate, she also doesn't seem to care about the constitutional rights of Americans, saying things like she, if president, would issue an executive order to outlaw guns if Congress doesn't do it first. That's lunacy. She's an authoritarian tyrant.

She’ll reinforce Joe Biden’s women and minority supporters. Most likely the best choice he could have made.

She'll be his loss. Too many flip flops and bad scandals. It’s obvious she was selected to check intersectionality ticks on the score card. We say we're not the party of corruption, but she's pretty crooked and everyone knows it.

She is an excellent pick. She brings the right blend of day 1 experience blended with right kind of temperament to take on Trump

She was an appeasement pick. She will have gotten him some votes from certain segments, but lost him votes from others. She will have a zero net effect. However she commits any faux pas during the campaign, she will cost him the election.

I do not like Kamala at all.. she is one of several high profiles that voted against doing anything possible to save a baby when an abortion resulted in a live birth.. she does not on several accounts screams save our children, i am for the law and justice , or believes in equality ..she even believes Biden is racist and his accusers are telling the truth... she has sold her moderate standpoint for far left agenda that pays her well.
She blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until she had to do so— In February, California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered new DNA testing in the 1983 murder case of Kevin Cooper. Cooper came within hours of execution in 2004 after being charged with the murders of an adult couple and two children. Harris opposed the testing. She has since said she supports DNA testing and encouraged Newsom to approve Cooper’s clemency request. She did not offer specifics on why she did not approve the testing during her tenure.
In response to a request for comment, Harris’s campaign pointed to a past statement where the senator called a New York Times columnist last year, telling him, “I feel awful about this.”
Harris later reversed her position and supported the DNA testing, the San Francisco Chronicle noted at the time.

As a woman I find it insulting that he chose to pick a woman, not necessarily she was the most qualified person. As a woman I am glad to see a woman on the ticket, but I think by him saying he was going to pick a woman it marginalizes the pick. He could have STILL picked her and called her the most qualified without limiting his pool. She also was out early in the primaries.
