Surat: House collapses due to heavy rains; 2 dead

SURAT : In a tragic incident, two teenage girls at Nondhan village in Bharuch’s Jambusar taluka died when the house collapsed due to heavy rains on Thursday morning.
Sources said that the deceased were living with their parent and brother in the kutcha house at Nondhan village. The incident occurred when the wall of their neighbour collapsed on their house due to heavy rains.
Villagers rushed to the rescue and fished out the family members from the debris of the collapsed house. The family members were rushed to the government hospital in Jamsubar, where the two girls were declared dead on admission.
The deceased have been identified as Hina Parmar, 13 and Vaishali Parmar, 12.
Police sources said that the incident occurred after the wall collapsed on the house of the deceased due to heavy rains. Since the incident occurred on early morning, the villagers rushed to the rescue of the family members, but the two girls succumbed to serious injuries.
“We have sent the dead bodies of the deceased girl for post mortem and that they will be handed over to the family for the last rites. However, the condition of other family members is stable” said a police officer.
