Chilling footage has emerged of the moment a hooded gunman opened fire on a businessman outside his Sydney home in an early morning assassination attempt.
Mohamed Saab, 37, was found with gunshot wounds to his shoulder, ribs and leg outside his home in Knoll Avenue in Turrella, in Sydney's south, just before 7am on Wednesday morning.
The father-of-two was rushed to St George Hospital in a serious condition as the hunt for the gunman continues.
Chilling CCTV footage posted online shows Mr Saab leaving his home and approaching the driver's side door of a black ute parked at the front.
An armed man wearing dark clothing gets out of the rear passenger seat of a dark coloured hatchback on the other side of the road.
He fires as many as 13 shots at Mr Saab before getting back into the rear of the getaway vehicle, which speeds off.

Mr Saab is captured clutching at his stomach as he stumbles back into his property, where two women are seen on the footpath trying to assist him.
Mr Saab remains in hospital, where he's expected to undergo surgery.
Sources say the well-known and respected construction company owner was believed to be embroiled in a dispute.
His cousin Ze Saab said his two young kids were heard screaming 'don't die dad'.
'He didn't do nothing,' one relative told reporters outside the family's home on Wednesday.

Some of the shocked neighbours and friends who swarmed the street turned on media crews when they arrived at the scene on Wednesday.
'Look at this c*** recording me, what did I say,' a man in hooded sweatshirt said.
'What wrong with ya?' his friend in a high-vis shirt then asked.
'You should be recording the scene, not me.'

Many have been left shaken by the shooting of the well-known businessman who they say is a 'role model'.
Investigators are still piecing together what sparked the shooting which they believe was targeted.
Police cordoned off the area before forensic officers to arrived.

'Some of the information that has come forward leads us to believe this was not a random incident,' Chief Inspector Chris Hill said.
'We are calling for any information from members of the community, for any details that they may have in relation to this matter.'
Investigators were seen sweeping the area in search of any evidence, they are yet to find the weapon.
A neighbour said she was 'really surprised' by the shooting.
She said the victim was a 'nice man'.

Another neighbour who works with Mr Saab's construction company described their boss as a 'top bloke'.
'He's very nice, he's the best. To be honest with you he's a role model,' they told the Daily Telegraph.
As inquiries continue, anyone who was in the area or who has information has been urged to come forward.
