Cops yet to crack St Jose Areal hit-and-run case

Maina-Curtorim police are yet to trace the driver of the vehicle under which a pedestrian was killed in a hit and run case near St Jose Areal. The victim has also not yet been identified.

Maina-Curtorim police have registered an offence against unknown driver of unknown vehicle under Section 304-A of IPC for driving in rash and negligent manner and causing death of pedestrian  some days back however  neither  the driver nor pedestrian are identified.

The dead body of the pedestrian is kept in the GMC Bambolim, said police.

Police said that the driver of an unknown vehicle dashed against the pedestrian on Margao-Quepem road and fled from the accident site. He even did not inform police about the accident, said Maina-Curtorim police.

Maina-Curtorim police said that in this connection Prasanna Prabhu Gaonker has lodged a complaint on behalf of state alleging that near St Jose Areal the said unknown driver drove his vehicle in rash and negligent manner endangering human life.
