Maharashtra: Shiv Sena MP, MNS MLA trade barbs over potholes in Kalyan-Dombivli

MNS MLA Pramod Patil shows potholes outside the bungalow of Shiv Sena MP Dr Shrikant Shinde
KALYAN: Shiv Sena MP from Kalyan Dr Shrikant Shinde and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's only MLA Pramod (Raju) Patil embroiled in a war of words over the issue of potholes on roads across Kalyan-Dombivli city.
The war of words between both leaders started following chief minister Uddhav Thackeray's visit on Monday in Thane to hold a review meeting of Covid situation in Thane, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan-Dombivli.
After Uddhav's visit, Patil took to Twitter to target Shiv Sena saying he heard that a day before CM's visit, guardian minister Ekanth Shinde got all pothole-ridden roads repaired in Thane.
"I would like to request CM Uddhav Thackeray to also visit Kalyan-Dombivli so that potholes here can also be filled and people who are suffering can feel some relief due to CM's visit." Patil tweeted

After Patil's tweet, Loksabha MP Dr Shrikant Shinde, who is also son of Thane guardian minister Ekanth Shinde slammed Patil for doing politics while sitting at home using Twitter and Facebook.
Dr Shinde said by raising issues only on Twitter and Facebook can't get the work done. For that, he (Patil) should visit the public. Dr Shinde also said potholes filling work is already going on in Kalyan-Dombivli.
Following Dr Shinde's statement, Patil again targeted him by visiting outside Shinde's bungalow situated at Dombivli MIDC Road.
Patil said, "We did not want to do politics over potholes but reality is that potholes are not getting filled. The road outside MP's bungalow have a lot of potholes."
Later, Dr Shinde again issued statement saying, "I would like to congratulate MLA Patil for taking my statement seriously and coming on the road for raising issues."
Dr Shinde said, "For last five months, we are working in the field to fight Covid-19 pandemic and everybody knows who is working and who is doing part-time politics by sitting at home."
