Hawks looking for two men who allegedly killed Eastern Cape cop

  • The Hawks are searching for two men who allegedly killed a police officer in Mount Frere this week.
  • They apparently shot at the sergeant's vehicle and a bullet hit her in the chest.
  • She was robbed of her state-issued firearm.

 

The Hawks are looking for two men alleged to have shot and killed a police officer in Mount Frere, they said on Wednesday.

Sergeant Nozibele Faye, 36, of the Mount Frere police station, was attacked by two unknown men just as she pulled out of her driveway on her way to work on Monday.

They allegedly shot at her vehicle and a bullet hit her in the right side of the chest.

Hawks spokesperson Lwando Zenzile said she died at the scene.

Zenzile said she was robbed of her state-issued firearm and that the men fled on foot.
