Katargam crosses 3,000 mark

Surat: With 22 new Covid-19 cases, the diamond hub in Katargam zone crossed 3,000 mark on Tuesday.
With 3,004, Katargam now has the highest number of cases in the city followed by 2,167 in Rander zone. Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials said 169 new cases were reported on Tuesday while three patients succumbed.
The Rander zone reported highest daily Covid-19 cases on Tuesday with 38 followed by 23 in Athwa, 22 in Katargam, 21 each in Limbayat and Udhna, 14 in central, 12 in Varachha (A) and eight in Varachha (B) zone in the city.
Around 82 patients also got discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 12,821.
