Former President Pranab Mukherjee’s renal parameters have shown a decline while he continues to remain in coma, the Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) hospital here said on Wednesday.

“Pranab Mukherjee is being treated for lung infection. His renal parameters are slightly deranged since yesterday. He continues to be in deep coma and on ventilator support,” the hospital said in a statement.

On August 10, Mr. Mukherjee underwent a life-saving emergency surgery for a brain clot and has since been on ventilator support. He had also tested positive for COVID-19.

Mr. Mukherjee was the 13th President of India from 2012 to 2017.
