West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday announced several exemptions along with permission to resume flights from the six cities affected by Corona. But the ban on the opening of educational institutions was extended till 20 September. Announcing the complete lockdown in West Bengal on September 7, 11, and 12, Banerjee said that metro rail service could be restored with social distance adhered to and other precautionary measures implemented.
After the cabinet meeting, he said, "We have received many requests regarding the resumption of flight operations from the six cities affected by Kovid-19, so from September 1, these six cities will be able to operate three times a week.

The state government had halted passenger flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur, and Ahmedabad to Kolkata till August 31 to prevent the spread of coronavirus. He said, 'Schools, colleges and other educational institutions in the state will remain closed till 20 September. Other restrictions will also apply. There will be complete lockdown on September 7, 11, and 12. Banerjee said that funds should be disbursed from the PM-Keyers Fund to states to deal with Kovid-19.

Earlier in a virtual meeting of Sonia Gandhi's chief ministers of seven states, Mamta Banerjee had said that, if the central government feels that it will not appeal to the Supreme Court to postpone the examination of NEET and JEE, the state governments will jointly May appeal to the Supreme Court.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee joined the meeting with the Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states. Chief Ministers of all the states present in the meeting have agreed to go to the Supreme Court against conducting the examination.
The meeting was attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanasamy, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
