The Tamil Nadu government has partnered with Bharti Airtel to bring quality online learning classes to students in the State through Airtel’s digital platforms.
Chennai: Content from Kalvi TV -- the State Government operated education channel -- will now be available for FREE on Airtel Digital TV (DTH channel number 821) as well as Airtel Xstream app on smart-phones and tablets.
Airtel Xstream app will be available for the customers as a free download on Android and Internet of System, a release from Airtel here said on Tuesday Kalvi TV was recently launched as the go-to destination for learning for students as schools remain shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The availability of Kalvi TV content on Airtel’s digital platforms will make online learning even more accessible for a large base of students in Tamil Nadu. “Availability of Kalvi TV’s educational content on Airtel DTH platform makes education more inclusive and accessible at the most trying time like COVID-19. It’s a pioneering work and Students of Tamil Nadu would greatly benefit from it”.

He also hailed the efforts of the Government of Tamil Nadu to help bridge the digital divide by utilising telecom infrastructure and keep students connected with the teachers and assures its full support to reach and serve more students.” Kalvi TV education channel will broadcast lessons for two-and-a-half hours every day from Monday to Friday. While about half of all programmes will be based on the State government’s curriculum, the rest will help students prepare for NEET and JEE among other competitive exams.
