The Red Sox right-hander is scheduled to throw his normal bullpen session Thursday afternoon. If Eovaldi is able to complete both tasks without a setback, he’ll make his next scheduled start Saturday against the Nationals.


Eovaldi was limited to 23 appearances and 12 starts last season, the first of his four-year extension. Arthroscopic surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow shut Eovaldi down in late April, and he didn’t return until Boston had effectively played its way out of contention.
