Ambala recorded 31st
Covid-19 death on Wednesday, with a 55-year-old man with comorbidity succumbing to the virus.
"The resident of
Naraingarh town of Ambala was a patient of diabetes and had a problem in respiration”, said Ambala civil surgeon
Dr Kuldeep Singh.
“Sixty people tested positive in Ambala, increasing the case tally to 3,359 on Wednesday, with 448 active cases. Of the 60 new cases, 29 are from Ambala City, 19 from Ambala Cantt, seven from Chourmastpur, three from Mullana and one from
Naraingarh and Shahzadpur”, said Dr Singh.
As many as 65 patients were discharged, taking the recovery count to 2,880 on the day.
“With the recovery rate of 85.74%, the case tally reached 3,359 in Ambala, of which; 2,880 patients got discharged, 31 died and 448 are active cases”, he said.
“So far, we have collected 54,690 samples for Covid-19 testing in Ambala, of which, 45,030 are RT-PCR samples and 9,660 are antigen testing kit samples. In the district, we have collected 48,484 samples per 10 lakh population”, said Dr Singh.
