CHENNAI: Joining the long list of things impacted by the pandemic is a brand pressing pause on its 64-year-old
slogan that no longer makes sense.
Kentucky Fried Chicken, popularly known as
KFC, announced that it is suspending the use of its iconic slogan “It’s finger lickin’ good” as it doesn't fit in today's
Covid-19 world.
Coronavirus outbreak: Live updates"Our it’s finger lickin’ good slogan has been around for 64 years, which is impressive for a brand in this day and age ... Think we can all agree, this year has been like no other and, right now, our slogan doesn’t feel quite right," KFC said in a statement, adding that it would not be using it in their advertising for a little while.
“While we are pausing the use of ‘it’s finger lickin’ good,’ rest assured that the food craved by so many people around the world isn’t changing one bit,” Catherine Tan-Gillespie, global chief marketing officer at KFC, said.
The company assured fans of its chicken that they are still going to be providing 'Finger Lickin’ Good' chicken, and the slogan will be back soon when the time is right.
