Arab singer Hashim Abbas’s performance of Chalakudy Chanthakku goes viral

HR Consultant Hashim Abbas, a Saudi citizen who works in a renowned Indian IT company in the Middle East, has performed Malayalam tracks like Jimmikki Kammal and Odanda Odanda Odithalarenda before, but his latest performance of Kalabhavan Mani’s Chalakudy Chanthakku… has been widely lauded and shared by Malayali netizens. Hashim performed the popular Malayalam track at the Lulu hypermarket in Al Kharj, much to the surprise of the shoppers. He seemed to be having fun too with it and his infectious energy seemed to radiate among the NRKs as most of whom haven’t been able to travel back home to Kerala for Onam due to the pandemic. Incidentally, Hashim has also acted in Malayalam as a hero last year. The actor made his debut as a lead actor in Mollywood through the film Kondottipuram, directed by Majeed Marancherry and is probably the first Arab national to play the lead in Malayalam movies. It was shot in Edappal, Malappuram.
