A journalist was shot dead on Monday night in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased was identified as TV journalist Ratan Singh. According to the police, he was shot outside the village headman's house. It is being said that he had an old dispute with someone. Police are currently investigating the case. In this case, the charge of the Fafna police station of Ballia district has been suspended. At the same time, the police have also arrested six accused in this case.


Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Yadav said that on the complaint of Vinod Singh, the father of journalist Ratan Singh of a private TV channel, a case against ten persons has been registered in Fafna police station on Monday night in connection with the rebellion and murder of Indian Penal Code. He said that the police have arrested six accused - Sushil Singh, Sunil Singh, Arvind Singh, Veer Bahadur Singh, Dinesh Singh, and Vinay Singh.

Yogi Adityanath has given strict action against the accused. Along with this, the Chief Minister has also announced a compensation of 10 lakh rupees to the family of the deceased Ratan Singh. Additional Chief Secretary Home Avneesh Awasthi issued a statement on Tuesday, saying that the Chief Minister has deeply mourned the murder of Ballia journalist Ratan Singh. Along with this, the financial assistance of 10 lakh rupees has also been announced for the bereaved family. The Chief Minister has also directed the police to take the harshest action against the accused.
