TNEA Random Number 2020 released for engineering admissions counselling
Representational Image. CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) committee on Wednesday generated 10-digit random numbers for more than one lakh candidates. Random numbers is used to break the tie when many candidates score the same marks while ranking.
Random numbers generated for 1,31,146 candidates who have applied to engineering admissions counselling.
The 10 digit number would be used to break tie incase many students scored same Mark's when deciding ranks.
"This year, 1,60,834 candidates registered for counselling and 1,31,436 of them have paid the fees for counselling. So far, 1,14,206 candidates have uploaded their documents," officials said.
As per the tentative schedule, the rank list for the candidates would be released on September 7 and the online counselling for general quota will be held from September 17 to October 6.
