A five-year-old kid was rescued on Tuesday from the debris of the building which was collapsed in Raigad district on Monday. The boy was rescued by NDRF personnel and was admitted to the hospital later.

PTI quoted a police official saying that nine persons have been rescued after the Tarek Garden building in Mahad was collapsed on Monday evening. 18 people from the building are still missing and rescue operation is underway, he informed. Along with the NDRF, police and locals are working tirelessly to rescue people trapped under the debris. Also, heavy-duty excavators are engaged in removing it.

Meanwhile, six people lost their lives in the building collapse. At least 78 residents of Tarique Garden in Raigad, the building that collapsed have been saved, the Raigad district administration has informed. Three teams of the NDRF and 12 teams of the fire brigade rushed to the spot. According to reports, the five-storey building was about 10 years old and had over 45 flats.

Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday labelled the incident as tragic in a tweet and said that he has spoken to SN Pradhan, the chief of the disaster response force to run all possible assistance.
