Bihar CM inspects construction work of Rs 15,135 crore Patna Ring Road project and six-lane road-bridge over Ganga

PATNA: Now, the north side approach road of the Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur six-lane road- bridge over Ganga river will be extended upto Vaishali historical place in the west and Tajpur (Samastipour) in the east direction.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inspected ongoing construction works on the six-lane Greenfield road-bridge project and asked the road construction department (RCD) officials to build two more six-lane approach roads in the north side of the bridge to directly link Vaishali and Tajpur, through a six-lane approach road.
"Vaishali is a very important historical place. The CM’s opinion was that this place should have direct access from the six-lane bridge. The CM also suggested for building a direct approach road up to Tajpur so that this six-lane bridge could be directly connected to the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur bridge, which is also coming over Ganga river near Bakhtiyarpur," the RCD additional chief secretary Amrit Lal Meena told TOI.
Meena said, as per the CM’s instructions, now two six-lane approach roads would be built in between Vaishali and six-lane north side approach road and from Tajpur to the six-lane bridge.
To a question, Meena said, the total length of Vaishali approach road would be 40km while Tajpur approach road would be 45 KM long.
The commencement of construction work on the six-lane bridge was launched by Nitish Kumar on January 31, 2016, during the government of Grand Alliance. Once ready, this bridge will directly link the diara areas of Raghopur, the constituency of the leader of opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, to the state capital by a six-lane highway.
Accompanied by road construction department (RCD) minister Nand Kishore Yadav, chief secretary Deepak Kumar, the CM also inspected ongoing construction works on the greater Patna’s approved ring road. The CM visited the Kanhauli- Ajma part of the ring road near Sadisopur in Patna district and asked the RCD officials to expedite construction works.
The CM also heard grievances of some villagers of Ajma.
The 137 KM long ring road would be built at an estimated cost of Rs 15,135 crore, Meena told TOI.
