Residents in Knoll Avenue in Turrella were woken to the sound of gunshots shortly before 7am on Wednesday.
A 36-year-old man was found outside a home with gunshot wounds to his shoulder, ribs and leg.

Police cordoned off the area before forensic officers to arrived. They believe it was a targeted attack, the Daily Telegraph reported.
A neighbour said she was 'really surprised' by the shooting.
She said the victim was a 'nice man'.
