Chandigarh: Administration extends odd-even in tight markets till September 3

CHANDIGARH: The UT administration on Monday issued orders for continuation of odd-even scheme for functions of congested markets till September 3.
UT adviser Manoj Parida said the situation was reviewed and orders passed on the basis of the recommendations received from a committee formed to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
Sub-divisional magistrates will coordinate with market associations for smooth functioning and strict enforcement of the orders. The scooter repair market in Sector 43 will remain closed on all Sundays.
The weekend closure of Sukhna Lake will continue till further orders.
In the review meeting on Monday, UT administrator V P Singh Badnore expressed happiness that during random testing of 60 vendors, all samples were found negative. He directed the municipal commissioner to continue with such tests.
He directed Dr G Dewan, director health services to keep in readiness mobile teams which can be utilised for serology testing, as and when a final decision is taken in consultation with the health ministry.
