ICMR hasn\'t disclosed full details of sero survey yet
New Delhi: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has not yet disclosed the full report of a nationwide sero survey conducted three months ago, prompting some experts to question why information on the extent of community transmission of novel coronavirus in the country is being delayed. A sero survey of 10 hotspot cities in the country was conducted in two parts in May to estimate the extent of people’s exposure to novel coronavirus, or SARSCoV-2. ICMR, the country’s premier medical research body, was to publish the results in its Indian Journal of Medical Research.
ICMR had shared the details of part of the survey with members of the task force on epidemiology and surveillance only after drawing criticism from public health experts in the group for not sharing data. “ICMR had earlier released a part of the survey. At that time, they had said that the survey conducted in containment zones will soon be published. It has been more than three months. We want to know why they have taken so long,” a member of the task force on surveillance and epidemiology told ET, requesting anonymity.
