HYDERABAD: With nearly 20 to 30 per cent of the industries that were allotted land in the notified industrial development areas (IDA) and industrial parks did not start works, the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) will resume the land by serving notice to them.
Industries minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday directed the TSIIC to identify such lands given to the industries, change of land use by industrial units and slap notice on them.
Official sources said while some of them did not start the industries and diverted them for other than the industrial usage, some industries have become defunct due to various reasons.
KTR directed the authorities to give show cause notice to the industrialists and ask them to start their industries in stipulated time. If the allottees failed to comply with the directions, the government would resume the land.
Official sources said there are nearly 15,000 industries both in notified and unnotified industrial areas and parks. But the notices would be slapped to those who got land in 157 notified IDAs. “In some locations such as Gaddi Pocharam and Kazipally some industrialists purchased the land on their own and set up industries which do not come under our purview,” a senior official of the TSIIC told TOI.
The minister said the land was given to the industrialists at the concession rate with an intention to attract investment and also provide employment to the people not for real estate business or other than industrial purposes. The government wants all the industries to be functional at the allotted site, he said.
KTR asked the official to prepare a blue book by compiling information pertaining to the industries and bring it in the form of a book. "The book should contain details of every industry, category like small, medium and large scale which is useful not only for the government to implement schemes but also others,” the minister said.
