  • But the woman said she knows her husband doesn't own a second phone

A suspicious wife has revealed how she spotted a text message on her husband's phone telling him to check his mysterious 'other' mobile.

The 26-year-old woman said her husband, 28, was sleeping on the couch when she noticed he had dropped his phone on the ground.

'I went to pick it up to make sure he hadn't accidentally cracked the screen and the phone lit up with a text from his friend Amber which read "look at your other phone",' the woman wrote in a Reddit thread, adding the text ended with a wink emoji.

'There was also a second text which read "goodnight xxx". I put the phone back down on the ground because I didn't want him to know I had seen it.'

As her husband woke up, she noticed he was looking 'frantically' for his phone.

'When I told him it fell, he looked relieved as soon as he picked it up. He started smiling when he replied to his messages,' she said.

'When we went to bed, I sat up all night waiting to see if he would take out this mysterious second phone, but he just went to sleep straight away and never woke up again in the night.'

The woman said her husband has been working from home since the COVID-18 lockdown so she suspects the second phone is hidden in their house or car.

However, she 'couldn't find anything anywhere' when she searched their property.

'My husband was in the shower so I checked his phone to make sure I saw the message correctly and it was gone. I'm really confused,' she said.

'Is there a reasonable explanation for this? Did she accidentally text the wrong person? Do I confront my husband? Snoop? What the hell is going on?'

Thousands of people quickly responded to the thread, including a private investigator who 'deals with infidelity for a living'.

'This is one of the biggest possible red flags,' they said.

'If I were you, I would remain as calm and natural as possible. Not letting him have any idea that you're aware of his shady behaviour.

'He's likely using a texting app on his phone. That's a lot easier than going off and buying a second phone. But if he does have a second phone, it's likely in his vehicle.'

The PI asked the woman whether his behaviour has changed, to which the woman replied: 'He's been starting fights constantly recently.'

The woman went on to explained that she's not friends with Amber, adding: 'She doesn't really like me.'

Others suggested the woman should not confront her husband just yet as he may use the opportunity to 'delete and get rid of evidence'.

'When I finally caught my ex cheating... his old phone was still signed into his email. I made copies of everything I could. Printed everything out,' one said.

'So when I started getting the bulls*** answers. I just gave him an envelop with all the evidence I had gathered. Good luck. Hopefully this isn't as bad as it sounds.'

Some suggested his 'second phone' may just be another number he's using inside a secret app in his phone, while many who were cheated on encouraged the woman to 'trust your gut'.

'Been there done that... my only crime was not leaving the a** and I regret it every single day. I don't like myself very well because I did not leave,' one said.
