Haryana: Military Engineering Services engineer robbed of car, cash, jewellery at gunpoint in Ambala

AMBALA: An engineer of Military Engineering Services (MES) has been robbed of his car, cash and jewellery at gunpoint from the parking lot of 'NH1 Factory Stores' on National Highway (NH) 44 under limits of Parao police station on Monday evening.
MES civil engineer Bharat of Oshiwara district of Maharashtra, who is presently posted in Delhi and resides at Sector 1, Rohtak lodged a complaint with the Ambala police on Tuesday in the early hours, alleging that he along with his wife was on his way from Chandigarh to Rohtak in their car, when they were robbed at gunpoint by two men on Monday evening.
On the complaint of Bharat, a case has been registered against two unknown accused under Section 34 (common intention) and 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 25-54-59 (punishment for certain offences and renewal of licenses) of the Arms Act at Parao on Tuesday.
Bharat stated to the police, “On Monday, I along with my wife came to Chandigarh for personal work in our Innova Crysta car (MH04JK8168). After completing our work, we left for Rohtak at about 2.15 pm. At about 3.30 pm, we stopped at NH1 Factory Stores showroom for some important shopping. When at about 4.50 pm, we were about to leave, two men came there. They open the driver-side door of my car and pointed a pistol at me and asked to come out or they will kill me. In fear, I and my wife came out of the car, and they fled away after snatching our vehicle. The car contained hand purse of my wife carrying Rs 1.07 lakh cash, a mobile phone, credit and debit cards, two gold rings, and some documents. My wife shouted for help but they fled from there.”
Bharat said that, "The car was parked in the range of a CCTV camera installed over there and the crime got recorded in the same."
Parao police station house officer (SHO) inspector Devender Singh said, “A car has been snatched on gunpoint on NH-44 and we have registered a case and started the investigation. Our teams are working to trace the vehicle, some CCTV footages are being checked and accused would be apprehended soon.”
