Noida: Family of 3 kids sits outside collectorate in protest against admin inaction, DM orders probe

NOIDA: It was an unusual sight at the collectorate office when a family of five including the sexagenarian father of a Mubarakpur resident along with his three small kids sat at a dharna with the man crying against the inaction of the administrative officials and Noida police officers despite multiple complaints in the alleged case of illegal occupation of his property.
The man identified as Pratap alleged that some of his neighbours were trying to illegally acquire his 50 yard plot purchased in 2018 and a group of the accused led by some womenfolk resort to assault on him and his family.
Pratap who went to the office of the district collectorate along with his father and three kids aged between two and four, sat outside the office and broke down alleging that there was no action despite multiple complaints and rounds of different administrative and police officers.
He alleged that he had bought a 50-yard plot in 2018 and it has been duly registered in his name. However, a group of his neighbours have allegedly taken possession of his plot and they have been resorting to assault on him and his family.
Pratap alleged that the accused were local strongmen.
"I had purchased a plot in 2018 from locals and I am in possession of all the documents signed by the patwari and other officials. People (accused after his plot) come in the morning, beat us and go back. In the evening, other set of locals come and would beat us. When we go to the police station, they will ask us to contact the seniors and get it in writing that an action takes place. What should I get?,” he asked.
He alleged that he had been making numerous rounds of the offices of the accountant, naib tehsildar, tenhsildar, SDM and DM office but to no avail and because of no help, he decided to sit outside the DM office.
Pratap threatened to commit suicide along with his kids.
However, the DM Suhas LY was informed about the issue and he heard his story.
A video of the DM seated at the ground with the family has gone viral.
The DM wrote a letter to the SDM (Sadar) to probe details about the issue and initiate action in the matter if so merits along with reassuring the family.
