Cape Town City coach Jan Olde Riekerink says his charges will fight until the end to secure their place in the top eight of the Absa Premiership.
The Citizens hit their stride after the season's resumption and have won three of their four league games, including a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates on Sunday.
City are seventh in the league standings, but only two points clear of Highlands Park and Stellenbosch, while 10th-placed Bloemfontein Celtic are one point further adrift.
"To be honest, for me as a coach, the beautiful thing is to go for the highest goal... of course we want to be among the first eight teams at the end of the season. We are still not there, there are a lot of teams close to each other [on the table]," said Riekerink after their win versus Pirates.
"We have Highlands and we finish with SuperSport. Those are direct rivals for those positions. So, I think it's our job to show them that we want to finish in the top eight, that's our goal."
Riekerink also praised his players for their teamwork after the win over Pirates.
"Individuals can't win the games, only the group can win the game. We played as a team and it worked for us," he added.
"Today (on Sunday) the minds [of the players] were stronger than their bodies."
