The Central Government has proposed 'Mission Kovid Suraksha' to speed up the process of manufacturing the Kovid-19 vaccine in the country and to manufacture it safely and effectively. Sources said that it will be formed with a fund of around Rs 3000 crore. The aim of the government is to ensure vaccine access to the public at an affordable cost.

Sources said that the mission is being led by the Department of Biotechnology. This will cover the entire process from the clinical trial stage to regulatory work and manufacturing. The mission aims to speed up the development of at least six potential vaccines.

At the same time, it is to be ensured that they are licensed for use in emergencies and launched in the market. Although nothing has been officially saying about it, several officials confirmed that the proposal has been prepared.

A senior official said that it is currently in the proposal stage. According to this proposal, the duration of the mission is proposed to be 12 to 18 months and there will be a budget of about Rs 3,000 crore. Under the proposed mission, it will be ensured that its vaccine is manufactured in sufficient quantity to meet the country's needs.

After the approval of the National Technical Advisory Group (NTAGI), it will be introduced into the public health system of the Ministry of Health to prevent further spread of Kovid-19 infection.
