Former Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy on Monday met Kailash Vijayvargiya, national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and in-charge of West Bengal and expressed his desire to rejoin the BJP.

Roy said that he met Vijayvargiya and told him that in the assembly elections due next year, priority should be to defeat the Trinamool Congress government in the state.

He said, "Today I met Kailashji and will meet state BJP President Dilip Ghosh in a few days".
