Shivaraj Meena appointed special officer to Yanam temple

PUDUCHERRY: Yanam regional administrator Shivaraj Meena has been appointed as special officer to Sri Venkateshwara Devasthanam Temple, said secretary (town & country planning, housing and Hindu religious institutions) K Mahesh.
In an order passed on Monday, Mahesh said Puducherry lieutenant governor Kiran Bedi accorded approval to appoint Shivaraj Meena after the tenure of the board of trustees constituted on March 21, 2017 for the temple expired. Shivaraj Meena will perform the functions of the board with immediate effect.
A proposal to reconstitute the board is under the government's consideration.
"He (Shivaraj Meena) shall take over the properties, documents, cash and others in the possession of the board of trustees as per the provisions of the act and rules and send compliance," Mahesh said.
The secretary directed the commissioner (HRI) to hand over the properties and documents and others in the possession of the board of trustees to the special officer.
