Youth held for derogatory posts on social media

Vasco: The Vasco police on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old youth from Chicalim Vasco on charges of posting derogatory and defaming language on social media.

A complaint in this regard was lodged by a representative of Parshuram Sena on August 21, alleging that the accused youth namely Angio Fernandes has posted derogatory and defaming posts on his personal social media account. Taking cognizance of the same, the representative of Parshuram Sena has lodged a complaint to the Vasco police, demanding his immediate arrest.

The police in this connection have registered an offence, under section 153 (A), 295 (A), 298, 504, 505 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police sub-inspector Sarvesh Sawant is further investigating the case, under the supervision of PI Nilesh Rane and superintendent of police (SP) South Pankaj Kumar Singh.
