Tamil Nadu added 5,975 more cases to its overall
Covid-19 tally on Sunday taking the total number of cases to 3,79,385.
However, the number of people undergoing treatment saw a minor drop and stood at 53,541 as 6,047 people were discharged on Sunday.
Chennai retained the number one position in terms of the highest number of fresh cases as it recorded 1,298 cases. For the first time, Coimbatore turned out to be the district with the second highest fresh cases with 392 cases, pushing behind northern districts of Cuddalore, Tiruvallur and Chengalpet which recorded 380, 354 and 352 cases, respectively.
After a dip in the number of deaths on Saturday, the state saw a marginal increase on Sunday as 97 deaths were notified. Chennai had the highest number of deaths at 19, followed by Theni which was a distant second with seven deaths. Coimbatore recorded two deaths.
