Sonia Gandhi BENGALURU: Karnataka pradesh Congress committee (KPCC) on Sunday has openly backed the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and the Gandhi family, amid the internal strife over change of leadership at the national level.
In a two page letter, sent out by KPCC president DK Shivakumar, the former minister has said the Karnataka unit is “loyal” to her and will “wait to be led by her”.
Shivakumar has gone on to specify that the leadership mantle of the Congress party needs to be handed over to former AICC president Rahul Gandhi once again, as he believes that “the Gandhi family has made sacrifices for the nation and also put at stake its own personal freedom and living like any other VIP”.
In his letter, Shivakumar has condemned the decision of making the letter of senior Congress leaders public and said any and all discussions must be held at a party forum and not in the media.
“I understand that there are senior leaders in the party who are expressing displeasure with the way the party is being run and also about the organization and its nuances. I would like to categorically express, if you permit, that any matter concerning the party is only an internal matter that should be only discussed in the designated party forums and not anywhere else,” he said.
