A resident of Rattpur colony employed as a cook at the house of Kalson alleged, “The IG in a completely drunken state entered my house at 9.38 pm and started hurling abuses and beating my daughter.” When she, taking a bath at the time, came out of the bathroom to help her daughter, Kalson allegedly abused her. The two started making a video on their mobile phone and pushed Kalson out of their home. In the 1.51-minute recording, Kalson was seen shouting expletives and bragging about his connections with top politicians and officials. He allegedly tried to slap Anjali, while shouting “no one can do anything against him”. He later sat in his car and asked his driver to go.
Minutes later, he landed up at the house of Satyender Singh, his neighbour in Rattpur, at 10 pm. “When my wife opened the gate, he pushed her back and started abusing her. As I came out, Kalson kicked and punched me,” he alleged.
Local residents protested against the police for the alleged delay in action and medical examination of the IG till late night after which two FIRs were registered.
Commissioner of police Saurabh Singh said, “The accused is arrested. He was produced before a local court.” The cases were registered under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 509 (outraging modesty of a woman) and 510 (misconduct in public by a drunken person) of the IPC.
