Lynk & Co Claims The 03+ Is A Sporty Sedan, So Does It Drive Like One?

Few car manufacturers out of China have made quite as many waves in recent years as Geely-owned Lynk & Co. With a host of stylish and well-received vehicles in its range, the automaker has ambitious plans to make its presence felt in markets around the world.

One of the most intriguing vehicles in Lynk & Co’s range is the 03 sedan that uses the same Compact Modular Architecture as the Volvo XC40 and the Polestar 2. As the car is only sold in China, we haven’t come across many reviews of it in English – until now, that is.

The Lynk & Co 03 in question is the sporty 03+ variant. Powering the car is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder pumping out 260 hp and 254 lb-ft (344 Nm) of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the tarmac through an all-wheel drive system. As a result, the sprint from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) is dealt with in just 5.9 seconds.

In addition to its beefed-up powertrain, the 03+ looks sportier than the regular 03. For instance, it features a revised front fascia with new air intake surrounds and a lower chin spoiler, bespoke skirts and a unique rear end that includes a spoiler.

The modifications continue in the cabin where parts of the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and door panels are clad in Alcantara. While the material is soft to the touch, the reviewer notes it will probably get very dirty, hence why Lynk & Co offers an Alcantara cleaning service at its dealerships.
