Among insurance companies, General Health Insurance has come up with new packages to cover long-term illnesses, keeping the pandemic and health risks under consideration. Insurance plans like ‘Corona Kavach’ and ‘Corona Rakshak’ saw a huge demand due to COVID-19 specific treatment plans.

‘Corona Kavach’ plan offers a sum of Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh as the insurance amount in case the person insured is tested positive for COVID-19. Similarly, Toffee Insurance has come up with a package that covers hospitalisation charges. According to a company spokesperson, the plans have been modified based on the needs of the individuals, mainly healthcare to meet COVID-19 risks.

The online fundraising platform Milaap recently cut down the platform fee to zero per cent to help those seeking for funds amidst pandemic. “In the past few months, as the crisis of the COVID pandemic unfolded, we witnessed an unprecedented wave of generosity from people. Thousands raised funds on Milaap to help lakhs of people in distress. Therefore, it makes perfect sense for extending this zero per cent fee to all fundraisers,” said Anoj Viswanathan, co-founder and president of Milaap.

On similar lines, Amazon extended ‘Amazon Relief Fund’ to associates as part of the Delivery Service Partner Programme, Amazon Flex programme with its trucking partners providing middle-mile logistics support in the event of financial hardships.
