On Thursday, neighbouring Punjab had announced emergency measures including a daily night curfew - from 7 pm to 5 am — and a weekend lockdown in all 167 cities and towns in the state to contain the worrying surge in Covid cases.
An official spokesperson said that all other national directives and SOPs (standard operating procedures) issued by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for Covid-19 management that are currently in force shall continue to be strictly followed. These orders shall remain in force till further orders.
It is hereby clarified that this order will have no effect on public and private transport and on tests/exams being conducted by Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC). A formal notification in this regard was issued on Friday evening by the chief secretary Haryana in the capacity of chairperson, state disaster management authority Haryana. Earlier, the state health and home minister Anil Vij had announced this from his Twitter handle.
