FAKE ALERT: ‘Fighting BJP agents in court’, tweet from Prashant Bhushan’s fake account goes viral

CLAIM
After activist-advocate Prashant Bhushan refused to apologize to the Supreme Court (SC) to avert punishment for his conviction for contempt or court, a controversial tweet has surfaced in his name on the micro-blogging platform.
A loose translation of this tweet made from an account in the name of ‘Prashant Bhushan’ reads, “My fight is not with the SC. It is with the BJP agents inside the court. Need your support in this fight, are you with me?”.

This account @p_bhushan11 is followed by many Congress leaders. Many followers of this account believe it to be the official handle of Bhushan.

TRUTH
This tweet is from a fake account of Bhushan. It was made in May 2020. His verified handle @pbhushan1 has over 1.7 million followers. It was made in January 2014. Since it has not mentioned 'parody' in its bio, many users have confused it to be the real account.

Bhushan hasn’t tweeted anything remotely close to this from his official account. His official handle has been putting out many tweets and news reports with regards to his contempt of court case.
