Body of missing woman pulled out from drain

Noida: The body of a 60-year-old woman, who went missing from her house in Sector 19 on August 13, has been recovered from a drain 100m away from the house.
The woman, who was suffering from depression, had left home around 12.45 pm without her phone or money.
After the family failed to trace her at any of her possible whereabouts, they lodged a missing persons complaint at the local police station. The cops scanned the CCTV cameras in the area and spotted her seated near a drain in the sector in a footage.
Eight days later, when the drain started emitting a foul smell the police suspected her body could be in it. “The woman was seen sitting between the drain and its parapet. Apart from this, she was not captured by any other CCTV cameras,” a police officersaid.
Sector 20 SHO Rakesh Singh said that the woman possibly fell into the drain accidently or jumped into it. “She was depressed for some time. Her husband had told police that she was inactive and would remain upset,” he said.
