Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi (right rib cage strain) has yet to resume baseball activities.

Benintendi suffered his injury during a four-game sweep by the Rays at Fenway Park. He is not allowed to join the travel party due to COVID-19 restrictions and is scheduled to receive daily treatment at home.

Benintendi was off to a 4-for-39 start prior to being placed on the injured list. He managed a pair of infield singles in that 8-2 loss to Tampa Bay. Boston is just 3-7 in his absence and has turned over the leadoff spot in the lineup to Kevin Pillar and Alex Verdugo.
