SSR death case: CBI starts probe, questions staff, takes over all the documents from Mumbai Police
After the Supreme Court nod, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday started its probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case in the city as it collected relevant documents and reports from the Mumbai police, officials said. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI, comprising officers, other personnel and forensic experts, had landed in Mumbai on Thursday night. The officials wasted no time and brought down the 'Kedarnath' actor's cook for interrogation on Friday at the DRDO and IAF guest house where the probe officials are staying.

Hours after the Supreme Court agreed to allow the CBI to probe the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the actor's family has issued a statement and thanked Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for his efforts so far. "Now that the country's premier investigating agency has taken over, we believe that all those involved in the dastardly crime will be brought to justice. Today's development reaffirmed our faith in India as a robust democracy," the statement read.
