Punjab: Dentist arrested for taking bribe in Sangrur

SANGRUR: The state vigilance bureau on Friday arrested a dentist posted at Bhawanigarh while accepting a bribe of Rs 8,500.
Complainant Nirbhai Singh Bhullar of Masani village under Bhwanigarh tehsil had alleged that Dr Surjit Chaudhary accepted a bribe of Rs 2,000 and was further demanding Rs 8,500 from him for treatment of his wife Gurjeet Kaur.
He produced copy of the video recording containing demand of the bribe amount. Based on this complaint, the Patiala vigilance bureau registered an FIR under various sections of the prevention of corruption Act and laid a trap to arrest the doctor. The vigilance team led by inspector Sudarshan Saini posted at Sangrur arrested Dr Surjeet Chaudhry red handed and recovered bribe money of Rs 8500 during trap.
