‘When you say old do you mean from the Stone Ages?’: Man posts a picture of his old sofa for backpackers to pick up – but he's completely roasted online
- Man mocked online for trying to sell leather-worn sofa set on Facebook group
- Daryl Krol said the recliners 'don't look that great' as he had them for 'ages'
- Group members were quick to ask if the set had come out of the Stone, Iron ages
A man has been mercilessly mocked online for attempting to sell a battered second-hand sofa set on Facebook.
Daryl Krol, of Waverley in Sydney's east, advertised the 'free to a good home' leather-worn set on the Irish Around Sydney Facebook page.
'One one seater recliner and one two seater recliner for free. I've had them for ages and we bought a new lounge so they gotta go,' his post read.
'They don't look that great after the leather has been worn. However, they are really really comfortable.
'Free to a good home. Pick up from Waverley'.
Within minutes Mr Krol's was roasted, with members of the group cheekily asking whether the set was new, hardly used and located in disaster zone Chernobyl.

'When you say you've had them for ages do you mean the Stone Age and the Iron Age?' one jokingly asked.
'When you're bored at home during lockdown with a Stanley blade,' another commented.
'Perfect! Maybe the time machine is included as well to take me back to the 80s when they made that thing!' a third group member added.

Similar second-hand items, with little to no damage, are also sold on community marketplaces for as little as $30 to $250. Pictured: Mr Krol's single recliner

Despite the group's members poking fun at Mr Krol's post, some seemed generally interested in taking the set home.

'Oh lovely can I collect tonight?' one asked.
'Be lovely in the new apartment,' another commented while linking her friend.
'Can we please have these,' a third member said on the post.
