Unidentified thieves 'run' away with de-addiction related medicines from private centre in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: Machhiwara police have booked unidentified thieves who allegedly took away de-addiction related medicines and cash after holding the security guard hostage.
Dr Rakesh Kapoor, who owns de-addiction centre at Samrala road, told cops that on Wednesday night security guard Pintu called him up and told him that three to four masked men came at the centre. He added that as per security guard the miscreants they put blanket on him and asked him to remain silent and later they went away after taking away around 19,000 de-addiction related tablets worth around Rs 6 lakhs and two lakh rupees cash from the centre.
The complainant said that even as they have CCTVs at the centre but the miscreants took the DVOR away after the theft. He later informed police about the matter.
On being informed cops from Machhiwara police station reached the spot and started probe into the matter.
SHO Machhiwara, inspector Rao Varinder Singh said that they have booked three accused persons under section 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment), 380 (Theft in dwelling house, etc.) IPC. He added that they are scanning CCTV to dole out clue about the accused.
