Mapusa witnessed a single day spike in COVID positive cases with 31 new cases reported on Friday. Besides these cases two more staff of Mapusa Municipal Council tested positive taking the total tally to 3.
According to Dr Cheryl D’souza, health officer, Mapusa Urban health centre informed that 31 new positive cases were detected in Mapusa on Friday which included staff from the Secretariat. “Most of the cases are contacts of earlier patients with few isolated cases reported in various parts of Mapusa on Friday” informed Dr Cheryl D’Souza. The cases were reported in Ansabhat (8), Cunchelim (7), Peddem (5), Karaswada (4), Duler (3), Khorlim (3) and Dangui colony (1).
Mapusa municipal council on Thursday had reported one positive case in the administration section.
Meanwhile, Colvale health centre reported 20 new COVID positive cases on Friday. According to health officer of Colvale health centre, Dr Damodar Narvenkar, 20 new positive cases were reported at various places. Colvale village detected ten COVID-19 positive cases which included a KTCL employee. In Tivim a family of three members tested positive.
Aldona health centre reported 12 new positive cases. Six cases were reported at Nachinola.
Meanwhile, Pernem Taluka recorded nine positive cases on Friday.
According to information available nine cases were reported in various villages in the taluka. Two positive cases were reported at Torxem, one each at Mopa, Ibrampur, Talarna, Parsem, Mandrem and Paliem. Two cases were reported in Pernem municipal area.
