Melonie Johnson has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. She is an industry veteran and comes with nearly 25 years of leadership experience in hospitality and gaming. Located in Atlantic City’s Marina District, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa features 2,000 guest rooms and is a MGM Resorts Luxury Destination.
She initially entered the role during Atlantic City’s COVID-19-mandated shutdown and worked closely with local officials to safely reopen the property in July. As a part of her responsibility, Johnson continues to oversee daily operations and strategic direction at the property in her new role. With her appointment, she also becomes the first black female to be named president of an Atlantic City casino.
Speaking about her latest role, Johnson said in a recent press statement that she is extremely excited to join Atlantic City’s market-leading resort and shared that she is looking forward to working with some of the industry’s most knowledgeable and engaging team members as the team further positions Borgata for continued growth and success.
