Facebook-owned WhatsApp experienced global outage n Thursday evening with users facing connection issues as well as inability to send messages in various parts of the world.
"WhatsApp is experiencing a partial outage for several users. It's not possible to use the service because the server is down. Note that some users might still be able to use the service," said WABetainfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp in Beta.
"It’s not possible to register a new WhatsApp account or to log in using an existing account for certain users," Wabetainfo said.
The problems existed till the early morning hours on Friday.
Nearly 66 percent of WhatsApp users faced connection issues while 30 percent were unable to send or receive messages.
WhatsApp is yet to acknowledge the problem.
Yesterday, Users of Google’s email service Gmail suffered an outage worldwide. Along with Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs and other Google services were also facing an outage.
Hundreds of Gmail users took to social media to complain about the outage in the service, with #Gmail becoming the top trend on Twitter. Many users complained about not being able to send any attachments or documents while others said they're not able to log in at all. Some users also reported that they are facing connectivity issues while working on Google Meet.
Gmail confirmed the disruption in its status page at 10:59 AM today. It wrote, "We're investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly."
