Joe Biden accepts Democratic Party nomination

Milwaukee: Joe Biden has accepted the Democratic presidential nomination on the final night of the party's convention, declaring that Donald Trump had "cloaked America in darkness for much too long".

Biden said he was accepting the nomination with "great honour and humility".

"I will draw the best of us, not the worst," he vowed.

He unsuccessfully ran for the Democratic Party's nomination in 1988 and 2008, only winning his first primary at the South Carolina contest this year.
